When opportunity knocks

How are you? It's been a whirlwind of a year so far and here's why!

Some of you may know I have a number of interests and projects - I like to keep busy! But I've also had time to think about what's next me for me and how I could streamline my work and time. It's important to have a good life balance.

Last year, I accepted a part time contract with Scotland's leading PR agency,
3x1 Group. I did this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, two large projects I had been working on were coming to an end and it was a natural fit to move onto something else chunky, and secondly, I was curious to work in an agency again and work with some amazing clients.

Throughout my time working with the agency I've really noticed a spring in my step by having a team again. After working for myself for almost 15 years, I hadn't noticed 'missing' it, but now I've had a taste of teamwork again, I really do value it.

I've also loved not having to do all the 'admin' I have to do in my own businesses and juggling everything.

The contract was only short term however I'm very excited (and a bit nervous) to announce that after six months the agency has offered me a permanent role as its Development Director! I've accepted and I am over the moon with the new challenge ahead, starting on 1 June.

Not only do I get to continue to work with the amazing team and help nurture and share my experience and knowledge, I can help someone I know and respect build an even better and bigger consultancy - 3x1's MD, Katrine Pearson.

3x1 Group has five offices in the UK and has over 40 awards. It's the leading independent consultancy in Scotland and our values very much align. We're creative and different but we also have high ethical standards and place huge value on integration and evaluation.

I'll still keep in touch with everyone on my database as I've met and know every single one of you, but it'll be from my new email
lsutherland@3x1.com - add me to your contact book! If you'd rather not hear from me anymore, just unsubscribe from this list. I'm sure you'll miss my chat though!

This means naturally, that Aura has come to an end after almost 15 years. However, it also means that there is an opportunity for clients to join me over at 3x1 Group and have specialists help deliver world-class results. From internal comms to digital marketing and from social media management to influencer relations to film making. Our in-house film producer is BAFTA award-winning!

I know it's the end of an era but you know me, I'm always up for a change, a challenge and I couldn't be more proud of what I've achieved with Aura. It's not often I blow my own trumpet but as every business owner knows, it's not easy running a business and keep standards high. The decision to move to 3x1 is at the right time, for the right role and with the right people.

If you'd like to know more or have a chat just drop me an email or give me a call.
