Laura accepts position as PRCA Scotland Chairman

The PRCA has asked me to chair the Scotland group and I've accepted.

I’m honoured to be asked to serve as the Scottish chairman, and am pleased to be setting my sights on the Scottish PR and communication industry again, as the PRCA works to develop better engagement with its members across the nations and regions. My work across the CIPR is at a UK national level and my work with PRCA a Scottish national level but I want to ensure better coordination of activity across the different membership organisations in Scotland.prca scotland chairmanI’ll be kicking off with a member survey to understand the needs of our members in Scotland and to gauge where we are at in key areas of our work.I will be transparent about all of my business endeavours to ensure any crossover is clear and labelled accordingly. For example, PRCA has been a sponsor of PRFest since the inaugural event. I will also not be entering the PRCA Dare Awards again, this year.Let’s crack on with being more brave, committing to professional development and pushing the Scottish industry forward. The opportunities are huge and we shouldn’t waste any time in achieving our full potential!I'm delighted to be working with Wilma Littlejohn, Scotland coordinator, PRCA. She said: “The vice chair, Lee, and I are really looking forward to working with Laura on a new strategy for the Committee in Scotland, expanding upon how it engages with its members and other trade organisations to benefit the wider PR and communications profession.”Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “As everyone who has been to #PRFest over the years knows, Laura Sutherland is a one-woman PR dynamo! We’re therefore delighted that she is our new Scotland chairman, and we’re look forward to strengthening even further our offering to Scottish members.”Thanks to the outgoing Scotland chair, Natalie Buxton for all your work up until now!Keep an eye out for the PRCA member survey and give me your feedback so I can use it to inform a strategy for 2020.
