Four things… I’m doing just now

The inside scoop of Laura

Like most bloggers, I wonder why people are interested in me. I’ve come to the conclusion that you perhaps see a likeness, something you can relate to. Am I right? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to know why you follow or visit my blog!

I don’t feel like my life is any more interesting than yours, but I suppose blogs are all about sharing experiences, thoughts and opinions.

I’ve taken inspiration from Kate La Vie’s revival of “five things’, but I’m doing four, so I don’t run out of ideas lol.

At the start of the year I set out an ambition to do more car reviews and more car-related posts. If you’ve read some of my other posts, you’ll know I love cars. Driving them, seeing them and fantasising about what I one day might chose if I won the lottery.

Well so far, I did a post on what women think about the whole car buying experience, in March I reviewed the Jaguar E-Pace and next week, I’m going to the launch of the new Jaguar I-Pace! I’m very excited about. The first electric car I’ve not thought looked hideous. In fact, it looks beautiful!

Cars on my radar include the new Volvo XC40, Jaguar F-Type, would love to drive a McLaren, thinking the 720s would be awesome, the I-Pace when the demo is free to borrow and I’m sure the new A-Class will be out soon to have a drive in (launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March). My list will continue to grow!

This year is an epic year of 40th birthdays. Not mine, my husband and all of his friends. So we’ve got activities planned throughout the year and the one I’m most excited about, apart from our annual trip to Goodwood Festival of Speed, is my husband’s 40th in October.

He hates surprises. He just buys what he wants, when he wants it. Mmmm, he’s not the easiest person to buy something special for!

When we were in guernsey over Easter visiting our friends and the girls, our friends said they were going to Dubai the day after my husband’s 40th. Long story short, despite hubby being fair skinned and red headed, we’re off to Dubai for his 40th! I’m taking him there and we’re planning an epic week.

I’ve of course been doing my research and asked a friend who lives out there what the best things to do are, but if you’ve got any suggestions for epic things to do, please let me know in the comments.

Hubby and his friend are talking about hiring a Ferrari and driving to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi for the day – things like that. Think if money didn’t matter, what could we do?

I’ll also plan some things at home for his friends and family… maybe a night at this new night club “Bearsden Vaults” I’ve heard of 😉

My work this year is mega busy. It’s all things I love. Strategy, research, advising boards etc. It’s so nice to have a year which is well planned and full of work you love. However, in November, I’m celebrating Aura’s 10th anniversary! Where 10 years has gone, I don’t know. Well, actually, I do.

I’ve worked damn hard. I’ve worked with loads of businesses, organisations and people. So I want the 10th anniversary to be collaborative, incorporating my 10 year journey.

I’m thinking of things I can do which are meaningful. Not just the usual stuff. I’ll keep you posted, but if you’ve got any cool ideas, either add them to the comments below or ping me.

I do love a mini-break. I’m hoping to fit in more breaks this year. I need them. I recognise that I’m not functioning at 100% when I’ve not had a break.

So, this weekend we’re away with my Mum and Step-Dad to one of their happy places for a couple of nights. Chill out time. Dog walking, eating, drinking and laughing. Quality time 🙂

Then, we’ve not really got anything else planned. I’m thinking maybe something in May, something in September and there’s talk of a few days in Guernsey with our chums, in August. Then we’re into Dubai.

It’s tough trying to fit things in when hubby’s diary is as choka (how even do you spell that?!) as mine, but it’s important for us both to make an effort to make the time.

So, that’s you up to speed on a number of things. I’ll try and do a similar post once a month. Did you like my post? It would be great if you could share with your friends in case they might enjoy it too! Thanks in advance.
